Technical Advisor/Client Engineer
IGS perform the role of client electrical engineer during the prefeasibility, connection offer process, pre-construction and construction stages of the generator installation.

Pre-feasibility studies
Before committing substantial resources on a project IGS can provide a pre-feasibility report on the potential connection method, budget costs and timelines. The report will also identify the potential regulatory risks associated with the connection.

Connection offer reviews
IGS can review the connection offer issued by the system operators, manage queries to the system operators, provide recommendations to the client and manage any dispute to the regulator if required. IGS has a strong history of improving the connection method, costs, timelines and constraints for projects.

Electrical design
With experience of electrical design at distribution and transmission voltages, IGS can provide a range of electrical design services including substation design, switchgear specification, cable sizing, protection and earthing design.

Planning
IGS engineers are experienced in preparing technical drawings necessary for the planning process.

Tender process management
IGS offer all the necessary services relating to the tender management & tender documentation including, specification development, tender evaluation and tender award.

Commercial & Regulatory
With the increasing complex nature of the commercial and regulatory framework governing connections, IGS can advise clients on current and upcoming changes to connection policy. IGS can prepare responses for clients to policy consultations, tailoring the response to the needs of the client's project or portfolio of projects.

IGS can also assist clients in negotiating Power Purchase Agreements.

Due diligence
Bringing together our technical, commercial and regulatory experience, IGS can advise developers or financial institutions on all aspects of connections for generators installations. IGS also bring the local expertise of being involved in connections on a daily basis in all parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland. During 2008-09 IGS completed due diligence on the connection of over €1B of generation assets.

Connection applications
IGS engineers have experience of completing connection applications for a wide range of generator technologies in both Ireland and Northern Ireland. IGS can also liaise with the system operators to progress applications through the connection offer process.

Training
IGS can provide training courses on grid connections tailored to the needs of the client.
