Rory is a recognised leading industry expert in the areas of electricity transmission, distribution, generation and supply, in a consultancy and utility environment. Rory has vast expertise in connecting renewables and the commercial and regulatory aspects of the Irish and Northern Irish Electricity Industries. Rory is also a member of the IWEA council and the Gate 3 liaison group, and chair of IWEA Grid Committee. Specific skills include:

  • Client and Project management.
  • Electrical engineering for the grid connection of renewable generation
  • Expert understanding of network operation, regulatory framework, market operation, connection and Use of System charges for the Ireland and Northern Ireland Electricity Industries.
Carlos Galván - Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Carlos holds the position of senior electrical engineer. Carlos has extensive expertise in design, operation, maintenance and procurement of renewable and conventional generation. Experienced in project management and design working in a consultancy and contracting environment. Specific skills include:

  • Technical Advisor in renewable generation projects.
  • Preparation of electrical scope of works.
  • Electrical design including substation, protection relays, switchgear, power transformers, cable optimisation and cable schedules.
  • Preparation of tender documents.
  • Technical specification of major plant items including grid step-up transformers and switchgear.
  • Protection relaying schemes.
  • Supervision of on-site installation and commissioning procedures.
Sinead Brennan - Project Engineer

Sinead holds the position of Project Engineer working as technical advisor and client engineer. Sinead provides specialist advice to Irish Grid Solutions clients on the commercial / regulatory and technical aspects of grid connection. Specific skills include:

  • Preparation of tender documentation
  • Losses studies.
  • Connection offer reviews.

Peter Lynn - Project Engineer

Peter is a Chartered Engineer who joined Irish Grid Solutions in 2009. His experience prior to IGS predominantly lay in the areas of traffic engineering and transportation planning, in a consultancy environment.Peter is responsible for the development and management of Irish Grid Solution's Geographical Information System (GIS) database of Ireland's existing and planned transmission / distribution networks and generators. Peter is also responsible for the development of IGS' Quality Management System. Specific skills include:
